Ash (@ash.caruso) shared the makeup and beauty recommendations in a TikTok video.

“I’m tired of spending money on things that don’t work, so here are a few drugstore beauty items that I don’t think fit the bill for Sephora brands,” she said.

Her favorite brow gel was the $10 NYX Instant Glow Styler.

“I picked it up out of desperation because I’ve tried so many Sephora brands for eyebrow gels, they’re just bad,” she said.

“Too pigmented, they get dirty all over, yeah you can clean it up, but when I sweat I do the Rudy Giuliani,” she joked.

“This stays in place. It’s not as pigmented, which I personally like when I want to put little pen strokes in them to fill them in.”

She also recommended Elf products, including their $10 Micro-Fine Setting Spray and $10 Putty Primer.

For skin care she chose one $25 Cetaphil moisturizer with built-in SPF 50.

“You don’t need the $50 viral sunscreen,” she said.

“Cetaphil works. It doesn’t leave a white cast,” she added.

I found a $6 Trader Joe’s dupe of Sol De Janeiro’s $26 viral body wash – it’s the exact same scent and better in many ways_

“I put some bronzing drops in there, it won’t mess up my eczema, which I’m happy about,” she said.

The $13 Byoma Milky Oil cleanser pleasantly surprised her after she bought it because of its pretty packaging.

“I started buying this brand because the packaging was nice, but I actually really like the milky oil cleanser and it was less than $20,” she said.

“It works just as well as any other double cleanser from Sephora, but that’s about double the price,” she said.
