David Koch calls breakfast TV a 'horse job' as retired Sunrise presenter receives Order of Australia award
David 'Kochie' Koch has dished on life after Sunrise following his departure from the show after 21 years.
The TV veteran, 67, told the story The Australian Thursday hours are the best part of working on his business Pinstripe Media.
“I love every minute of it, but compared to working in the emergency department, it really is a horse job,” he said.
“But if you can use that job to make a difference elsewhere, it's the best job in the world.”
David has also received an Order of Australia for his work in media and the community.

His award includes his significant services to economic journalism while continuing his work in the financial sector.
Sandra Sully, who has been a presenter on Network Ten since 1990, also received an Order of Australia for her achievements.
It comes after Kochie spoke about how well Matt 'Shirvo' Shirvington replaced him after his departure from Sunrise.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the Virgin Voyages event last month, Kochie had nothing but praise for the Olympic athlete.
“I love every minute of it, but compared to working in an emergency department, it really is a horse job,” he said
'He's doing very well. “We knew Matt was going to take over about two or three years ago and he was going to take my place,” he said.
“Matt is just a great guy. I have a wonderful family. I like his enthusiasm. He brings with him a kind of elite athlete mentality. He always wants to learn.'
The Channel Seven veteran went on to say that he still has lunch 'regularly' and catches up with Shirvo and Nat.
