A heartbroken woman was forced to watch her husband die next to her on a plane after 'gallons of blood' poured from his nose and mouth.

A 63 year old German The tourist reportedly coughed up a large amount of blood after boarding the plane in “cold sweats” and “breathing way too fast.”

Fellow travelers saw the man spit into a bag before a terrifying “stream of blood” poured from his mouth and nose.

The man was visibly ill before boarding the Lufthansa flight from an airport in Bangkok, which was due to land in Munich later that day.

But according to passengers, his condition quickly deteriorated as soon as he boarded the plane.

Passengers rushed to help him as he sat down and even offered him chamomile tea in hopes of calming his breathing and slowing his rising heart rate.

He started filling a bag with blood, spitting out gallons of it in a short time.

Martin, 53, told a Swiss outlet Look: “It was absolute horror, everyone was screaming.”

Before adding that the man's blood eventually covered the walls of the hut.

Flight attendants quickly rushed to the German and tried to resuscitate his now lifeless body.

Martin described the resuscitation attempts by the cabin crew as “amateurish” and after half an hour he was pronounced dead with the captain announcing this over the loudspeaker.

The man was then carried to the galley so that he was away from the other passengers when the plane turned around and flew back to Bangkok.

The man's wife initially told the crew that her husband was unwell after they were forced to run through Bangkok airport to catch the flight.

This led to one flight attendant becoming “very concerned” about his health when a doctor was called to check on the obviously ill man.

A 30 year old Polish The doctor arrived on the scene, quickly took his pulse and asked if the German was feeling okay, Martin said.

The medic then indicated that he was fine and the plane took off.

Moments after his horror death, the mood on the plane reportedly dropped as an eerie silence filled the air.

Lufthansa confirmed the death to Blick and said they had “no further details” about the shocking incident.

BACK AT THE AIRPORT

The man's emotionally exhausted wife was seen walking through customs alone as the plane landed in Thailand's capital.

Martin said: “She stood there all alone and apathetic and had to go through all the formalities.”

He also called the treatment of the '30 traumatized passengers' completely 'unacceptable' and said he expected an apology from the entire group, including the woman.

Because they had to wait for two hours without any communication until they were told to rebook a new flight via Hong Kong.

Passengers said they were only given a 10 franc (£9.06) voucher in compensation.

Other airplane-related horror stories include when a Ryanair plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a group of assertive and aggressive passengers.

The Sun spoke to a passenger on board who said the group caused chaos before they even boarded the plane.

And last year a drunken father was fined for fighting armed police who dragged him off the plane after a seven-hour delay.

Darren Gill, 33, was with his partner and young son but hit the bar when his 1pm flight was delayed.

The drunk construction worker harassed the cabin crew and when armed officers arrived he staggered and said indistinctly: “Why am I being taken away, I'm not drunk?”

He then resisted arrest and headbutted a steel pole.
