A grim ending in the search for the missing Kingston boy as authorities discover a body

The search for a young Brisbane boy has ended with the discovery of a body.
The seven-year-old Kingston resident was last seen on Queens Road, in Kingston, Logan, around 5pm on Saturday.
Police said specialized divers found the boy’s body on Sunday morning.
On Saturday, police warned that the boy was at significant risk due to his young age and a medical condition that made him non-verbal.
“Unfortunately, it is a tragic event that I am now reporting yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m. Police were notified of a missing seven-year-old autistic child,” Senior Sergeant Glenn Ryder said, according to police. Courier mail.

“Following that information, police began a search for the person that involved multiple police resources, as well as our officer partners, the police and fire departments and the National Emergency Service.”
He said Polair had searched the streets with the help of community members.
Residents had been asked to check their homes and any structures, including sheds, in case the seven-year-old was hiding.
Senator Sergeant Ryder thanked the community and said his thoughts were with the boy’s family, who were being assisted by police and had requested privacy.

A community effort to find the boy had restarted on Hope Street near Slacks Creek at 8am on Sunday.
The boy’s aunt also shared a public post on social media that was widely shared.
“Hey everyone, anyone available to come search, please come help,” she said.
‘We don’t have many eyes and we could really use some help. The search starts at 8am on Hope Street Slacks Creek and works our way inwards into the bushland.
The boy was described as Polynesian in appearance, with shoulder-length, dark wavy hair.
He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and underwear.
