I had a botched hair bleaching at home – folks, it’s foolproof, I lost half of it

A NOVICE DIYer feared she would lose her hair after bleaching it herself at home.

People were shocked to see what happened when she washed her hair.

Katie (@thislilshorty) shared the hair mistake in a TikTok video.

“Maybe I bleached my hair a little too much,” she said.

When a friend rinsed water over her bleached blonde roots, it evaporated from her locks almost immediately.

“Goodbye long hair,” Katie sighed.

“Congratulations, your hair is no longer dry and has reached hydrophobic status,” said one viewer.

“Omg! Self-drying hair!” said another.

In another videoKatie replied to a commenter who cringed at the sight of her ‘waterproof’ hair.

“As someone with a Cosmetology degree from TikTok, that’s not a good girl,” they said.

Katie showed off a shoebox full of hair and revealed she had cut off irreparably damaged locks.

“The way my eyes popped out of my socket,” said one shocked viewer.

a third video revealed that Katie still had a lot of hair left, just not as much as she would have liked.

The former brunette now had a shoulder-length blonde cut due to the hair loss.

“Don’t worry. My hair is still attached to my head and looks fantastic,” she said.

“Don’t use 30 bleach, guys. You might lose 50% of your hair.”
