THIS is the horrific moment waves of people smashed through glass, plunging them into darkness as a strange swell crashed into an army base.

Victims were seen grabbing hold of everything to avoid being swept away, while others ran as quickly as possible to safety.

Imagery uploaded to social media caught the moment the wave first hit, sweeping away the glass windows and throwing away the table and chairs.

A second wave comes through the doors moments later, plunging the room into darkness as everyone continues to seek safety.

Army Public Affairs Officer Mike Brantley revealed that one person suffered lower body injuries.

However, their condition is stable after being treated at the clinic on Kwajalein Island.

On Sunday, the US military confirmed in a statement that “a series of weather-related waves hit Roi-Namur, causing significant flooding in the northern parts of the island.”

The terrifying ordeal is said to have taken place on January 20 at around 9pm.

In the aftermath, the damage caused by the swell led to the evacuation of all “non-mission personnel” from the island.

Furthermore, the two airports on Ailinglaplap Atoll – a ring-shaped island surrounded by coral – are expected to be closed for weeks due to the flooding.

Neighboring islands near Roi-Namur reported only moderate damage from the flooding.

Located in the central Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the Philippinesthe Marshall Islands consists of a vast chain of volcanic islands and coral atolls.

It is also where the Bucholz army airfield is stationed. one of the most secretive US military bases in the world.

The floods come just days later several U.S. troops suffered “traumatic brain injuries.” after an Iraqi air base was hit by a barrage of rockets from Iranian-backed militants.

Several US personnel are undergoing evaluation after multiple missiles and rockets were fired at Ain al-Asad air base.

The base, home to US forces in western Iraq, came under fire from multiple ballistic missiles and rockets.
