John Cena wasn’t nearly as naked as he appeared when he presented the award for best costume design at the Oscars

John Cena certainly made an impression at the Oscars ON Sunday.

The 46-year-old Argylle star appeared to be wearing only his birthday suit as he walked onto the stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles to present the award for best costume design.

The wrestler turned actor carried a large manila envelope with “Costume Design” written on it as he approached the microphone, showing off his six-pack abs and strong legs.

His feet were covered with brown sandals.

As naked as he looked, there were safeguards in place to keep his R-rated appearance from becoming NC-17.

Behind-the-scenes photos show that the Freelance star was actually wearing a flesh-colored covering over his genitals and buttocks.

As part of the schtick, the WWE Smackdown was later covered in a gold toga.

Host Jimmy Kimmel introduced the piece by saying that at the 1974 Academy Awards, a man shot across the stage as actor David Niven was about to introduce Elizabeth Taylor.

Cena was supposed to recreate Moment on his 50th birthday, but declined, saying, “I just don’t feel right about it.” It’s an elegant event, you know, you should be ashamed of yourself right now for proposing such a tasteless idea.”

After some back and forth, Kimmel said, “Okay, then hand out the prize.”

At that moment, the Barbie actor side stepped to the center of the stage, to the sounds of loud laughter throughout the theater, and then slowly approached the microphone.

Another stated: “It seems pretty clear to me that some powerful people are blackmailing you.”

‘How much is your soul worth to you, sir? Smh,” one follower wondered.

Although the audience laughed, things didn’t go so well at home. This person also thought it was strange and wrote: ‘LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.’ Other fans called it part of a ‘humiliation ritual’

Cena’s ex-fiancée, Nikki Bella, who now goes by her birth name Nikki Garcia, 40, was in the audience.

The Barmageddon star, who split from Cena in 2018, looked stunning in a plunging gold dress with her black hair in a long bob. Nikki has been married to Dancing with the Stars coach Artem Chigvintsev since 2022.
