Lana Del Ray talks about her desire to become a mother after her ‘shock’ divorce from Evan Winiker: ‘I can see it coming’

Lana Del Ray has expressed her desire to become a mother following her ‘shocking’ divorce from Evan Winiker.

The 38-year-old singer said she has “more to explore” in the world as she detailed her plans to have children.

Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Times’ Culture magazine, she said, “That’s why God hasn’t given me children yet. Because there is still more to discover.

‘I know people who have tested every water. It burned them, just like Icarus. But I’m willing to go there.”

The musician further confirmed that she sees herself becoming a mother one day, adding, “I can see it coming. We will see. We’ll see what melts the wings.’

Lana recently insisted she is currently single after it was reported earlier this year that she was engaged to the managing partner of talent agency Evan.

Speaking to the December/January art issue of Harper’s BAZAAR, Lana revealed that she is ‘definitely not in love’ at the moment, as she confirmed her single status.

Her words may come as a shock to fans after it was claimed in March that Lana was set to marry 40-year-old Evan when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring.

However, it appears Lana and Evan have now gone their separate ways, with Lana hinting at the breakup during the conversation.

When asked about being in love, Lana said, “I’m definitely not in love right now. No,’ she says firmly and smiling. ‘Definitely not in love. I have been, but no.”

When asked if it’s something she wants, Lana said, “Well, I’ll tell you.” I haven’t thought about it for the past five months on the road and this. But give it a week.

“My history will definitely come to me at some point. Yes. It would be interesting if that wasn’t the case. It would be interesting if that wasn’t the case.’

Lana said she hopes to decide where she wants to be in the world before focusing on finding a partner.

She said, “I think I need to align myself with where I want to be geographically stronger in my solar plexus, like a knowing there, before I can romantically align with a stronger desire.

“Because if you don’t necessarily feel a connection to the sidewalk you’re walking on, the love thing stays there,” she says, waving to a world beyond her garden.”

Although Lana didn’t name the ex-boyfriend and later confirmed she wasn’t talking about Evan, she went on to say that a recent relationship of hers ended because of her “modest” Los Angeles home.

She said: ‘I feel like even the most laid-back guy wouldn’t really want to chill out here. Unfortunately, some of you know… that’s not it…. That shocked me.

“I’m not going to mention names and stuff, but that one really shocked me, that person. That was basically the end of a relationship.’

Lana’s relationship with Evan reportedly began a few months before the romance was confirmed, and she debuted a stunning diamond sparkler on March 1 while attending the Billboard Women In Music Awards.

Evan is a musician himself and is close with fellow Steel Train bandmate Jack Antonoff, who regularly collaborates with Del Rey and worked on her new album Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

The Summertime Sadness singer was last linked to 33-year-old musician Jack Donaghue, member of the electronic band Salem.

Lana and Jack were said to have been seeing each other since early 2022, but she remained silent about the relationship and the exact time of their breakup remains unclear.

Prior to her affair with Donaghue, the superstar dated country singer Clayton Johnson, 34.

The pair reportedly met on a dating app in 2020 and were rumored to be engaged later that year before going their separate ways – a split that was never addressed by Del Rey.

The singer’s relationship history also includes Scottish singer-songwriter Barrie-James O’Neill (2011-2014), Italian photographer Francesco Carrozzini (2014-2015), a brief relationship with rapper G-Eazy in 2017, and a whirlwind romance with real-life agent Sean ‘Sticks’ Larkin (2019-2020).

Speak with Rolling stone in 2014, the hitmaker said she “has an affinity for really good, strong, confident people.”

And the Born to Die singer loves being in a relationship, telling Harper’s Bazaar that she likes “to come home and have someone there.”
