Louis Tomlinson's fans found themselves in a stampede at the Riverstage venue in Brisbane, Australia, where the British singer will perform on Tuesday night.

Dozens of ticket holders lined up overnight in hopes of securing a coveted front row seat at the concert.

However, they were turned away by the venue as camping was banned, and early arrivals were promised that from 9.30am on Tuesday morning, early arrivals would be given numbered wristbands to keep their place in the queue. Brisbane times reports.

A line of 2,000 fans arrived in an attempt to secure the 500 blue wristbands on offer, with fights breaking out in the melee.

There was further anger when fans learned that others who showed up on Monday had already been given gold wristbands, with the stoush ending in a stampede.

'We were thrown into the trees. A mother lost her two daughters, aged 10 and nine respectively,” 15-year-old Madison Francis told the Brisbane Times on Tuesday.

“It was very dangerous, there were a few injuries.”

Another fan, Elizabeth Hales, told the newspaper that fans were “jumping the gates,” leading to a “hectic” situation.

A Brisbane City Council spokesperson said such events would be better managed in future.

“Due to severe weather warnings, council officers acted in the best interests of young fans queuing early despite rules prohibiting this,” the spokesperson told the Brisbane Times.

Peter asked, “There's been some 1D beef lately thanks to Liam, who's been speaking out about the band a bit. When you look back on your experiences with the band, what do you think about your experiences at that time?'

A suspicious Louis replied: 'Oh, so the fishing has already started! Yes, I see what you're doing. No, listen, I'm extremely proud, as I know Liam is, obviously I'm extremely proud of that time.”

“It was an incredible thing to do, especially at such a young age and I have great memories, great memories.”

Carrie pushed Louis further, asking if he ever gets tired of still being linked to One Direction despite their split in 2016.

She asked, “Louis, when you say, 'Oh well, the fishing has started,' I can imagine how annoying it is to have to answer questions like that afterwards. Do you want to talk about that period in your life with the media, versus how much you never want to talk about it again?'

Louis replied, “I like to talk about it in every interview. It's something I'm very proud of, like I said. It was just when you mentioned the beef earlier, it sounded like you were getting ready to cause some trouble, that's all I'm saying.”
