Married At First Sight viewers have taken to social media to highlight groom Collins Christian's 'terrible acting' in the series, even going as far as to question how he ended up on the show.

During Sunday night's shock episode, the 28-year-old collided with relationship expert John Aiken after his wife Natalie Parham said he wasn't showing her affection.

Aiken, 53, asked him what he thought he should do to regain Natalie's trust, prompting an irritated Collins to say he was the one asking for advice.

Viewers were divided over Collins' hateful response to what should have been a serious conversation and took to social media to voice their opinions.

“Collins won't even get a job on Home and Away with this acting,” one fan joked.

'Is Collins going for a Razzie on MAFS for the worst overacting of all time? At this rate he's ready for an appearance on Days of Our Lives,” a second user added.

“Serious question: How the heck did Collins get through the auditions?” a third person asked, while another wrote, “I think Collins is trying to get into NIDA.”

However, others supported Collins' approach and praised him for his ability to put on a show.

“Collins, best actor award for MAFS 2024,” one supporter wrote, and another added: “Someone call The Academy: Collins is making a bid for an Oscar.”

During the tense episode, Collins was questioned by John about his feelings towards Natalie when things got heated.

Natalie explained that she wanted to leave the experiment after Collins failed to show her affection during the dinner.

“My father passed away two months ago and my anxiety and sadness started to take over and I never thought I would feel alone at a dinner party,” she said.

Collins then admitted that he could show Natalie more affection before adding, “It's not uncommon for Nat's sadness to have been a big part of this experiment.”

“Apart from the sadness, she attended to the best of her ability,” John said.

Collins interrupted: “You just put the grief aside…I'm sorry, but if I'm honest, I don't agree with you. You can't just put sadness aside, it's a huge factor.'

“No, sorry, I came to you for advice… just tell me,” said a frustrated Collins.

Natalie then broke down when she admitted she didn't trust Collins before eventually announcing her decision to leave, but Collins voted to stay, forcing the pair to remain in the experiment.
