Nicki Minaj is being sued by West Hollywood jewelry store Roseark for allegedly damaging borrowed jewelry
Nicki Minaj is being sued by a jewelry store after allegedly failing to pay for loaned custom jewelry, which they claim she failed to return on time and damaged.
The 40-year-old Super Bass rapper is being sued by West Hollywood luxury jewelry boutique Roseark, according to Roseark TMZ.
The Trinidadian-born entertainer – who recently shared adorable snaps of her two-year-old son on Instagram – reportedly borrowed some jewelry for a public appearance through her stylist Brett Alan Nelson, who signed a contract with the shop.
Roseark said they invoiced Nelson for the damage, which totaled $26,239.50 plus interest.
Meanwhile, Minaj’s attorney, Jordan Siev, told TMZ that his client is not responsible, claiming the store is using her for publicity.

According to the contract, Nelson would return the accessories within a week and pay for any damages.
The lawsuit states that Nelson failed to return 66 of the pieces by the deadline, and that when he finally returned them, two were noticeably damaged: a set of earrings and a leaf ring.
A source close to Minaj denies the allegations, telling the publication that everything was returned on time and that the store only filed a complaint about a missing stone after they had owned the pieces for quite some time.
Meanwhile, her lawyer stated, “We have not received any evidence that any of the jewelry in question was damaged by Nicki.”
“This lawsuit appears to be nothing more than an ordinary insurance claim from the jeweler, designed to generate publicity for himself and obtain compensation to which he is not entitled. We will vigorously defend the lawsuit.”
The store says they have not been paid despite multiple collection attempts.
They are suing both Nicki and her stylist for the amount.
News of the lawsuit comes just a day after Nicki announced her highly anticipated album release date.

The singer took to Twitter on Monday and wrote “20/10/23 The Album” alongside emojis from a CD and a pink bow.
This will be her first studio album in five years, following 2018’s Queen.
The currently untitled album could be the first she’s releasing under her own record label, Heavy On It, which she announced through her Queen Radio show earlier this year.
Nicki will also be featured on the upcoming soundtrack for Barbie, out July 21.
In addition to her music career, the star has also been busy with motherhood.
In April, she shared multiple photos of her son on social media. The artist’s baby boy was seen spending time in a restaurant, playing with a toy basketball and watching a video on a phone.
The hitmaker has not revealed her son’s name to the public till now and usually refers to him as Papa Bear in her various social media posts.
Minaj shares her son with her husband, Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, whom she married in 2019.
