Gwalior: A 19-year-old girl was kidnapped by two bikers from a petrol pump in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. The entire incident was caught on camera and the footage showed the two men forcibly taking her away on a two-wheeler in broad daylight in the Jhansi Road area.

The video shows one of the men wearing a black cloth over his face and another wearing a helmet. One of them was seen waiting at a petrol station while another man dragged the girl and forced her to sit on the bike. After forcibly lifting the girl into the backseat, the second man tries to climb behind her, but fails and chases the bicycle.

The woman, who hails from Bhind, arrived in Gwalior with her family by bus, said Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh Chandel. “They had come from there (Bhind) and when they got down from the bus, the boys (suspect) took the girl on a motorcycle. A few days ago, a boy had come to their village against whom they had filed a complaint. We are looking for the suspects and will nab them soon,” he added.

About six people, who were present at the spot, were seen not taking any action.

According to family members, a youth from the girl’s village harassed her and a case had already been registered in this connection. The victim had come to Gwalior from Bhind with her father and other relatives to attend a party at a relative’s home, the SP added.

“The incident took place when the girl went to the washroom of a petrol pump while her relatives were talking to each other. Two motorcycles forcibly took her away,” he said.

The identities of the suspected kidnappers are not known. The Jhansi Road police station has registered the case and police have launched a hunt for the two men.

“After the girl’s abduction, a case has been registered on the complaint of her relatives and efforts are on to trace her,” said Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh Chandel.
