Noida: Puneri Paltan produced a kabaddi masterclass on Monday as they defeated bottom-placed Telugu Titans by a whopping 36 runs in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 match at the Noida Indoor Stadium. Mohit Goyat was the star player in Puneri Paltan’s 54-18 win, while Abinesh Nadarajan and Gaurav Khatri High registered 5s.

Telugu Titans were buoyed by the return of captain Pawan Sehrawat to the team but he was tackled within 8 seconds of the start of the match. Puneri Paltan leaned on their defense while Abinesh and Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui kept the opposition at bay. The Telugu Titans raiders had little success as the team trailed 6-7 midway through the first half.

Telugu Titans did well to stay within striking distance but were completely undone by a series of three attacks. It started with a SUPER RAID from Mohit with Pawan, Hamid Nader and Nitin going to the bench and the next attack saw Shadloui catch Robin Chaudhary in an ankle hold.

The third attack was just a formality as Prafull Zaware surrendered to Aslam Inamdar and Puneri Paltan inflicted the first ALL OUT. Their lead grew to 7 points at 16-9.

Pawan’s men scored just one point in the last five minutes as Puneri Paltan ended the first half with a 23-10 lead. More trouble was in store for Telugu Titans as they faced an ALL OUT in the opening minute of the second half and the gap between the teams continued to grow.

Puneri Paltan took complete control of the game as Abinesh dished out tackles at will while Aslam and Mohit offered no respite to the Telugu Titans’ defence. Pawan was off color throughout the game and Telugu Titans were on the receiving end of another ALL OUT right after Shadlou performed a powerful sprint to deny Pawan. Mohit tore through the Telugu Titans defenders and Puneri Paltan led by as many as 28 points at 39-11 with 10 minutes to go.

Puneri Paltan put on a masterclass as they delivered a fourth ALL OUT five minutes later. Mohit won points in attack and defense as the score stood at 48-13, with the men in orange leading by 35 points. Puneri Paltan then gave their bench a chance and Aditya Shinde gave a good account of himself as his side registered a huge win.
