Would Pump Rules’ Faith Stowers win a lawsuit against Stassi Schroeder?

Believe Stowers‘to call to action Stassi Schroeder to stop publishing her “non-factual” books can’t hold up in court, lawyer Neama Rahmani told exclusively Us weekly.

“I think what happened to Faith is wrong, but you have to have an actionable claim,” Rahmani explained on Tuesday, June 20, referring to Stowers’ claims that Schroeder, 34, previously made racist comments about her while working together On Vanderpump Rules.

The lawyer pointed out that with freedom of speech in America, “Even if something can be racist [or] totally mean [and] disgusting, that doesn’t mean you can get the book [it’s written in] taken down.”

However, Rahmani told Us that Stowers, 34, “could sue for defamation” depending on the evidence she has against Schroeder.

“The question is: ‘What false statements were made and what was your damage?’ Just being a racist is unfortunately not a criminal offense in this country,” he added.

The reality stars first made headlines in 2020 when Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired Pump rules after Stowers claimed the women had falsely called the police years before.

Stowers also claimed that while she was on the series from 2015 to 2017, the “Straight Up with Stassi” podcast host and Doute, 40, made racially insensitive comments about her and the fact that she is black.

While both Schroeder and Doute publicly apologized for their past actions, Stowers made it clear she disagreed with how things turned out. On Sunday, June 18, the Challenge alum added a link to her GoFundMe page asking fans to help her raise enough money to sue Schroeder, who Stowers says has benefited from her negative actions since leaving Pump rules.

“Stassi Schroeder recently wrote a NY Times best-selling book and made yet more horrific non-factual claims about me. After all she has done, she continues to persist in her ignorant claims which are very damaging to me and my family,” Stowers said. wrote on the crowdfunding site where she asks for $20,000 for her legal battle. “I am seeking assistance from my legal team to have this book removed and all royalties/funds collected from this book donated to charity or help a family of their choosing. Thank you for your support always. And thank you all for standing up to bullies and racial divisions.

The former SUR employee addressed her decision to take legal action against Schroeder in a statement Us on Tuesday. “I believe Stassi has not learned from her mistakes and still claims in her book that I committed a crime. This is detrimental to my career and my family. Enough is enough,” said Stowers. “I have found a great legal team and we are seeking help from supporters who are also against bullying and segregation to put an end to this case once and for all.”

Rahmani meanwhile told it Us on Tuesday that a lawyer would “need a little more on Faith’s part” to prevent the New Orleans resident from potentially publishing more portions of her book, Get rid of my head. But first you have to win before you can go after the assets.
