Kremlin authorities initially said that Navalny “collapsed and died” after a spot clot or thrombosis, but yesterday he claimed that died of “sudden death syndrome”.

However, more details leading up to his death have been revealed in a timeline by a human rights group.

The organization claimed that several Russian spies from the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) had visited the 'Polar Wolf' prison – where Navalny was being held – on Wednesday.

They claimed that the spies there had disconnected and dismantled some security cameras and listening devices in the gloomy prison.

The group also said the speed with which Russian authorities announced Navalny's death was suspicious.

The father-of-two was pronounced dead at 2.17pm, but only two minutes later jail issued a press release.

Just four minutes later, a state-controlled channel on the messaging site Telegram claimed that Navalny's cause of death was a blood clot, or thrombosis.

Seven minutes later Dmitry Peskovthe Kremlin spokesman, spoke to the media about Navalny's death.

The times the human rights organization reported: “This rapid timing can only mean one thing.

“Everything was pre-planned and coordinated, right down to the FSIN press release. Minute by minute. Second by second.”

However, another source claimed that this could simply be explained away – perhaps Navalny died earlier than reported.

He claimed that the prisoners had been informed of the death as early as 10am local time, contrary to reports of 2.17pm.

The insider said: “I think Navalny died much earlier than the announced time.”

It was claimed last night that Russian officials are working “everything they can to prevent his body from being transferred“.

Navalny's family – and critics – believe this is a murderous cover-up as his mother has yet to say a final goodbye.

His family was told yesterday that Navalny's body was still not at the mortuary in Salekhard – in the Arctic Circle – where officials told the father's loved ones it had been taken there.

Critics have now accused it of being crooked Russian authorities to hide the body to “cover their tracks” about the 47-year-old's death.

Last night a source close to the Kremlin's enemy said: “They are doing everything they can to prevent the body from being handed over.”
