Queen Rania of Jordan celebrates her and King Abdullah’s 30th birthday

Queen Rania of Jordan has celebrated her 30th birthday with King Abdullah by sharing a beautiful selection of photos online.

The mother of four, 52, took her Instagram account yesterday to share two posts to celebrate the happy occasion.

In the first post, Queen Rania shared a video with candid footage of the couple together – including a photo from their lavish wedding day at Amman’s Zahran Palace in 1993.

Elsewhere, the lovelorn couple could be seen holding hands as they shared an affectionate look and even took a selfie together.

In her second post, the stylish Queen of Jordan shared a new photo with her husband, as well as a photo of a beautiful bouquet of colorful flowers.

The new portrait showed Rania, dressed in an elegant white-patterned dress, sitting next to her dapper husband, who wore an all-black ensemble.

“Each passing day brings us closer together, and each passing year shows me how incredibly blessed I am to spend my life with you. Happy 30th birthday my king,” Rania wrote on her first post.

The couple was introduced at a colleague’s dinner party in 1992 and became engaged six months later before exchanging their vows on June 10, 1993.

Their lavish ceremony took place at the Zahran Palace in Amman and it made such an impression that it was declared a national holiday.

Just a few days ago, they had the joy of seeing their son, Crown Prince Hussein, marry Rajwa al-Saif in a spectacular wedding in Amman, attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales.

For her wedding, Rania wore a truly royal ensemble – although she broke with royal tradition by not wearing a tiara.

Tradition dictated that a royal bride should wear jewelry from her own family to her wedding, but Rania, born into a modest Palestinian family in Kuwait, was not from a noble family with an impressive array of jewelry at her disposal.

Growing up alongside her two siblings in the West Bank town of Tulkarm and working hard for her achievements, her decision made a statement that she wouldn’t forget her humble beginnings.

Instead, she wore an embellished headband tied to her bridal veil, which was styled around her intricate updo.

After their marriage, the couple became parents to Crown Prince Hussein, 28, Princess Iman, 26, Princess Salma, 22, and Prince Hashem, 18.

As this weekend marks the anniversary of Queen Rania’s royal wedding, tThe Jordanian royals also recently celebrated the marriage of their son Prince Hussein to Rajwa Al Saif.

Before their wedding, Queen Rania paid an emotional tribute to the bride, describing Miss Rajwa as ‘the sweetest and most beautiful bride-to-be’, adding that she is as dear to her as her daughters, Princesses Iman and Salma.

In March, their daughter, Princess Iman of Jordan, gave a touching nod to her parents’ big day by wearing her mother’s white and gold wedding belt as she took part in her henna ceremony.

Having stood the test of time and watching their children grow up, the royal couple seems to be just as happy as they were thirty years ago.

And ever since, Queen Rania has been widely admired and known for her strong voice and charitable work.

Named one of the world’s 100 most powerful women by Forbes magazine in 2011, she is known for supporting projects on key issues such as women’s rights, child protection, the environment and youth empowerment.

She is also known for her fine sense of style. From elegant traditional Jordanian clothing to tailored ensembles, the Queen knows how to make a statement with her wardrobe.

The Queen and her husband recently appeared at the coronation of King Charles in a long-sleeved yellow dress by Tamara Ralph Couture. She paired the custom pencil number with a matching hat and Jimmy Choo heeled pumps.

The King and Queen maintain close ties with the British Royal Family and were also present at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral last September.

Queen Rania turned out to be very fond of the late monarch. She admitted she “looked up” to Queen Elizabeth during an interview with ITV News.

She said, “She didn’t always assume you wanted her advice, but she was very generous when you asked for it. I really looked up to her. To me she is the queen of the world.’
