Taranagar is one of the 200 Legislative Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan and is part of the Churu Lok Sabha constituency in the Churu district and northern region of the state. According to the data, the seat, categorized as a ‘rural’ seat, had a total of 2,35,379 eligible voters, including 1,23,561 male and 1,11,818 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Narendra Budaniya won with 56,968 votes and in the 2013 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Jai Narayan Pooniya of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) won with 65,654 votes.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: The date for nominations is October 13 for Phase 1 and October 21 is the date for Phase 2.
