Randeep Hooda pays tribute to Veer Savarkar ahead of his biopic release, ‘Tried to lock myself in jail’
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently shared a series of photos from Veer Savarkar’s prison. For those unfamiliar, Hooda is all set to release his upcoming biopic based on VD Savarkar’s legacy.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has been making headlines ever since he visited Kalapani Jail, Port Blair, located in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Randeep is all set to release his upcoming film based on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s biopic Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, which is expected to release in March 2024. On Monday, Randeep Hooda in his latest Instagram post shared the photos where freedom fighter VD Savarkar had stayed. In the series of images shared by the actor, Randeep Hooda was seen embracing his moment in Kalapani jail. Read through.

Randeep Hooda took to his Instagram to share a few pictures of where Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was put in jail. In one of the pictures, the Bollywood actor was seen folding his hands in front of VD Savarkar’s statue. In another photo, Randeep Hooda was seen sitting on the corner of Kalapani Jail.
Randeep then wrote a descriptive caption in which he wrote, “Today is the punyatithi of one of the greatest sons of Bharat Mata. Leader, fearless freedom fighter, writer, philosopher and visionary #SawatantryaVeerSavarkar. A man whose towering intellect and fierce courage so scared the British that they locked him up for two lives (50 years) in this 8-by-10-foot prison in Kalapani. While exploring his biopic, I tried to lock myself in this cell to feel what he must have experienced. I couldn’t stay locked up for even twenty minutes, while he was locked up for eleven years, often in solitary confinement.
Randeep further wrote, “I imagined the unparalleled endurance of #VeerSavarkar who endured the brutality and inhumane conditions of captivity and still managed to build and inspire the armed revolution. His perseverance and contribution are unmatchable and that is why the anti-India forces continue to malign him for decades….Naman (folded hands emoji) (sic).”

About Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Hooda’s upcoming biopic film
Except Randeep Hooda who is playing the lead role in VD Savarkar’s biopic. The film also portrays Bigg Boss 17 fame Ankita Lokhande tagging alongside Randeep Hooda in the film. Helmed and co-written by Randeep Hooda himself. Based on the title of the film, it can be understood that the biopic will portray the life and legacy of freedom fighter VD Savarkar. The much-awaited film is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films with Legend Studios and Avak Films.
