Racecourses where fans are most likely to cheat on their partners revealed

ALMOST one in 10 horse racing fans have cheated on a partner at the races – with Royal Ascot favorites for a romp, a poll has found.

Eight percent said the situation had become more serious during a drunken day out at a racecourse.

The majority of love rats (16 percent) said they fancied trotting out at Royal Ascot when passions ran high at the summer race meeting in Berkshire in June.

A further 15 per cent hooked up with a lover at the Cheltenham Festival, while nine per cent admitted to straying in Newcastle.

Cardiff punters got in first as they were most likely to have sex on the course and cheat on their partner; ten percent admitted they did.

Next were Glasgow and Newcastle.

In total, just 34 percent of the 2,000 people surveyed by betting site freebets.com said they were into racing and betting, with 25 percent enjoying the drinking culture and 12 percent enjoying dressing up.

Only ten percent said they enjoyed watching horses race.

Freebets spokesman Tim Agnew said: “There’s a lot going on at race meetings.

“As well as gambling and drinking, people are often dressed to impress and it is easy to see how passions get the better of fans.”
