The shooting took place in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, where Kadyrov was reportedly amassing a huge “private army” ostensibly for use in supporting the dictator in the war in Ukraine.

According to reports, Atmurzaev, an officer of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, was driving past the Akhmat-Arena stadium when guards urged him to stop.

After failing to stop, two warning shots were fired into the air before being aimed at Atmurzaev, who was shot in the head.

The injured colonel was rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save him.

There are suspicions that the troops being gathered in Chechnya are not for Ukraine, but could be deployed if Putin is threatened by a coup.
