That’s what the officials claimed Biden will use his State of the Union speech
to announce US military will “undertake an emergency mission to establish a port in Gaza, in collaboration with like-minded countries and humanitarian partners.”

They added that the operation does not require surgery American troops are on site.

Instead, they said, the port is only intended to allow more shipments of food, medicine and other essential aid.

One official said the temporary port would increase the amount of aid to the war-torn region by “hundreds of additional truckloads” every day.

This month, the US found ways to circumvent its ally in the US Middle Eastand has begun sending aid via airdrops.

The US military conducted its first airdrop of humanitarian aid in Gaza on March 2, with three C-130 aircraft delivering 35,000 meals.

Another official has said they can’t wait for the Israelis to confirm a port security arrangement.

The official said: “We are not waiting for the Israelis.

“This is a moment for American leadership, and we are building a coalition of countries to meet this urgent need.”

The official added that the UN and humanitarian organizations would also play a role – because they “understand the distribution of aid within Gaza.”

The first shipment of supplies will reportedly arrive from the port of Larnaca Cyprus – about 370 kilometers from the Gaza Strip.

Four others EuropeanMiddle Eastern and US officials said much of the port project still needs to be ironed out.

These officials revealed that even after a coordinated plan is in place, it would take 45 to 60 days for regular aid to be sent.

A third US official said: “The goal here is to find a way to bring synergy to every initiative.

“We’re going to need something like that so that we can actually build connective tissue between our planners, our development professionals, etc. to work out some of the details.”

Humanitarian aid groups recently revealed that delivering supplies to Gaza has become virtually impossible.

They blamed this on the difficulty of coordinating with the Israeli army.

A new report from the humanitarian group Refugees International claimed that Israel has “hindered and undermined the humanitarian response” in the Gaza Strip.

The report said: “Our investigation makes clear that conditions in Gaza are apocalyptic.

“After five months of war, Palestinians are struggling to find enough food, water, shelter and basic medicines.

“Famine-level hunger is already widespread and getting worse.”

Last week, Gaza health authorities said hundreds of victims were shot dead by Israeli forces while they waited for a delivery of relief supplies.

Chilling black and white aerial footage appears to show a large number of people running towards the convoy of trucks, apparently clambering over each other to reach its contents.

Officials estimate that at least 104 people were killed and more than 280 injured in the tragedy near Gaza City.

At the time the White House said they were investigating reports of Israeli fire and described what unfolded as a “serious incident.”

A White House National Security Council spokesperson said: “We mourn the loss of innocent lives and recognize the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, where innocent Palestinians are just trying to feed their families.

“This underlines the importance of expanding and maintaining the flow of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, including through a possible temporary ceasefire.”

More than 30,000 people are now believed to have died in Gaza for fear of famine.

Israel launched its operations in Gaza following an attack by the terror group on southern Israel October 7When militants killed 1,200 people and took about 250 others hostage.

a There is talk of a 40-day pause in fighting amid growing fears that there may be only a few dozen hostages left to rescue.

At least 30 of the remaining 130 hostages have been confirmed dead, but Hamas said yesterday it was unable to compile a list of surviving prisoners.
