Tori Spelling Opens Up About ‘Single Mom Christmas’ Struggle
Tori spelling is doing her best this holiday season after her divorce Dean McDermott.
“It’s December 22nd and I have officially bought my first Christmas present,” Spelling, 50, wrote on Friday, December 22nd via her Instagram Story. “5 Christmas lists to tackle. 3 days to do [it.]”
Spelling explained that she missed the online shopping deadline to arrive in time for the holidays, so she had to buy her gifts in person.
“Now I have to brave the mall alone,” she continued. “This single mom is crushing Christmas 2023 😂.”
Spelling and McDermott, 57, share sons Liam, 16, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, and daughters Stella, 15, and Hattie, 11. McDermott is also father to son Jack, 25, whom he shares with his ex-wife Maria Jo Eustace.

This is the family’s first Christmas since the couple split earlier this year. McDermott announced in June via a now-deleted Instagram post that he and Spelling were splitting after 17 years of marriage. Four months after his surprising news, McDermott broke his silence about their breakup and opened up about his struggle with alcohol.
“My worst memory with Tori is that last fight when I was drunk and angry. It was the night I raged at her and the children and I saw the light, the last flicker of the flame in her eyes going out,” he told the Daily email in November. “I posted [the split announcement] because I was at the end of my rope. I didn’t know what to do. I had burned everything down again.”
After McDermott’s impressive interview, a source said We weekly that Spelling was “caught off guard.”
“It was a lot of personal information about their family,” the insider shared in November. “Tori has been very protective of the kids, given Dean’s anger and outbursts.”
McDermott has not seen his children since June and has only communicated with them by phone. However, a second source says this Us earlier this month that Spelling and McDermott’s plans for the holidays are up in the air as McDermott continues to work on his sobriety. (In November, he confirmed that he had completed 40 days of inpatient treatment and was living in a sober group home for men.)
“It depends on Dean’s healing process and his commitment to sobriety,” the insider explained Us in December. “Right now it’s still up in the air.”
Since their divorce, both McDermott and Spelling have moved on. McDermott is romantically linked Lily Calo since October, while Spelling has been dating Ryan Kramer since November.
