PM Modi in Ayodhya: In a heartbreaking moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday clicked selfies and signed autographs with children while making an impromptu visit to the house of a Ujjwala Yojana beneficiary, Meera Majhi, during his day-long visit to temple town Ayodhya.

Footage shared on social media showed the Prime Minister interacting and clicking selfies with the two children – a boy and a girl – who were present at Meera’s modest home to welcome Prime Minister Modi as he arrived for a surprise visit.

Prime Minister Modi also gave his signature on a paper drawing depicting the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. It was drawn by a local child, Anuj, a student of class 6. PM Modi signed the drawing and wrote ‘Vande Mataram’ on the sheet of paper before returning it to the child.

Prime Minister Modi also clicked selfies with the children and gave his signature on a piece of paper with a drawing of the Ram Temple and next to it he wrote ‘Vande Mataram’.

‘God visited my house’

Prime Minister Modi paid a surprise visit to a woman named Meera Majhi – the billionth beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme – at her home near Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya city.

Modi, who was in the temple city to unveil a ‘new old’ city with an airport, a revamped railway station and multiple projects, made a sudden stopover at the house of the woman who has the distinction of being the 10th-crore beneficiary are of the Ujjwala scheme.

When the Prime Minister’s cavalcade suddenly stopped at the colony near Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, surprised locals started shouting “Modi-Modi”. He entered Meera’s house and drank tea made by her.

He inquired about the welfare of the entire family and that of the colony.

Meera told the Prime Minister that she has been given free petrol and accommodation.

“Earlier I had a kutcha house, but now it has become pucca,” she said, expressing her happiness at receiving Modi at her home.

“I never thought God would visit my house,” said Meera Majhi, the billionth beneficiary of Ujjwala, as she tried to put into words her joy after the Prime Minister’s impromptu visit to her modest home.

“I was overjoyed, I never thought that ‘God’ would visit my house like this. My happiness was out of control,” said Meera.

‘Tea is too sweet’

When asked about the details of the Prime Minister’s visit, the woman said: “First he came, he sat and talked to my children. I folded my hands and welcomed him. He then asked us what benefits we received under this arrangement. I told him I had a house, gas and free water supply. I am very happy that I now cook on gas and not in an oven.”

She added that the Prime Minister asked what she had prepared for lunch, to which she replied that she had cooked daal (pulses), rice and vegetables…. and tea.

“Modiji told me that we should drink tea in winter. That’s why I made him a cup of tea.”

“The tea is tasty, but a bit too sweet,” says Prime Minister Modi. “This is how I make tea,” she replied to the Prime Minister.

She said PM Modi told her it was a little sweeter. “I told him this is the way I make tea,” she added.

A statement from the Uttar Pradesh government said the Prime Minister drank tea at the residence of the Ujjwala scheme beneficiary and had a brief conversation with her. This program was not planned in advance, he said.

PM Modi in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Modi was on a day-long visit to the temple town of Ayodhya ahead of the grand opening of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir on January 22. During his visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated the nation, committed himself to the nation and laid the foundation stone of several worthwhile development projects. more than Rs 15,700 crore.

These include projects worth around Rs 11,100 crore for the development of the city and surrounding areas, and projects worth around Rs 4,600 crore related to other works in Uttar Pradesh.

After arriving in Ayodhya, Modi held a roadshow from the airport to the railway station and was greeted by hundreds of people lining the route.

Modi greeted people from his car and at one point opened his car door to wave at them. People dropped flower petals, waved BJP flags and raised slogans in his honor.

The Prime Minister also witnessed performances by cultural troupes along the route. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office said on Friday that more than 1,400 artists would present folk art and cultural programs at 40 stages along the route from the airport to the railway station.

PM Modi inaugurates new airport

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the newly built airport and redeveloped railway station in Ayodhya ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the grand Ram Mandir on January 22.

After the roadshow, the inauguration of the airport and train station took place.

Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, Modi said the entire world is waiting for the historic dedication ceremony of the Ram Temple but urged people not to come to the city for the event.

He said some people have been invited and they should come to the temple town to witness the historic day.

Stressing that the power of ‘vikas’ (development) and ‘virasat’ (heritage) will take the country forward, the Prime Minister urged all citizens to light diyas in their homes on January 22 so that the entire country basks in glory.
