CCTV footage from a neighbour’s property showed a group of people flocking to Hatherleigh Road, in North Adelaide’s Parafield Gardens, during a backyard wedding on Saturday evening.

Some people could be seen pushing each other just before a vehicle reversed into the group and fled the scene.

A 16-year-old girl was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Another man, 36, and woman, 28, were also injured during the incident but did not need to seek medical attention.

Shocking footage has revealed the moment a car plowed through a group of wedding attendees on Hatherleigh Road, North Adelaide’s Parafield Gardens, on Saturday evening.

The footage shows the car aggressively reversing towards the crowd, but stopping just meters away as people appear to get in before it drives onto the road.

He then suddenly stops, backs up aggressively again and charges over one man and continues to hit the rest of the crowd before heading out into the street.

A neighbor who had lived on the street since 1975, John McGrath, said the incident was “not normal” and could not remember the last party on the street.

He told Adelaide now that he had heard fireworks around 8:30 p.m. but thought the affair was just a Saturday party until the police lined the street.

Another local resident, Paul Lubcke, told the publication that he heard a scream around 10 p.m. before seeing police arrive.

Other residents said they had no idea a wedding was taking place on the street at the time until word got out about the incident.

It is believed that a couple with young children moved into the house a few years ago. There is no evidence of any wrongdoing on their part.

South Australia Police confirmed they had spoken to “a number of people at the scene” in connection with their investigation.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
