Plan a 'winged rocket plane' that can fly from China to America in ONE hour

There are plans to build a supersonic 'winged rocket' that can travel twice as fast as the Concorde.

If successful, the ambitious plane could fly passengers from Beijing to New York in just one hour.

Currently, the average flight from New York to Beijing takes about 18 hours.

But China-based Space Transportation wants to shake up conventional air travel by bringing high-speed point-to-point transportation to the world.

In 2022, the company announced that they are developing a 'rocket with wings' designed for space tourism, which would provide never-before-seen travel times around the world, changing the aviation industry as we know it.

The aerospace world boasted that the supersonic jet would reach a speed of 4,000 km/h – which is twice the speed of the iconic Concorde.

The purpose of the spaceplane is to enable rapid transportation between two destinations through suborbital travel, while also being completely reusable.

A company spokesperson said: “We are developing a winged rocket for high-speed point-to-point transportation that is cheaper than rockets that carry satellites and faster than traditional aircraft.”

The company's website includes a video showcasing the project, which involves animated passengers boarding a plane with rockets attached to its wings.

After a vertical takeoff, the rocket wings detach from the aircraft as it continues to fly through the air.

And as the plane continues its journey, the wings and boosters return to the launch pad.

After reaching the destination, the plane lands vertically using three legs that unfold from the rear part of the plane.

Test flights were announced in 2022 and are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

If successful, a test flight with the crew will take place in 2025.

Meanwhile, plans have been unveiled for the world's fastest plane, which can fly at 7,000 miles per hour and reach anywhere in the world in just 90 minutes.

The “Venus Stargazer Spaceplane” aims to be the fastest, reusable, hypersonic passenger aircraft ever created.

The futuristic beast of an airplane is being developed to travel at Mach 9, which is nine times the speed of sound or almost 7,000 miles per hour.

The American aerospace startup hopes to transport twelve passengers anywhere in the world in just 90 minutes by flying to the frontier of space.

Venus Stargazer was developed in collaboration with NASA's premier human spaceflight facility.

Taking takeoff and landing into account, the plane should be able to fly 5,000 miles in just one hour – the distance between Houston to London or San Francisco to Tokyo.

Elsewhere, a hypersonic plane that will shake up flight times is being developed by 'Russian Elon Musk'.

Entrepreneur Mikhail Korkorich is building a hydrogen-powered aircraft that can fly five times the speed of sound.

The company's revolutionary project, Destinus S, is a 25-seat business jet that can fly up to 9,000 kilometers at an altitude of 30,000 meters.

This means that the aircraft will fly more than 18,000 meters higher than current aircraft.

The startup also plans to build a wide-body passenger plane known as Destinus-L.

The aircraft will have a capacity of 300 to 400 people and can fly a distance of up to 21,670 miles.
