An Adelaide pub has been slammed after a cocktail was created in honor of the late Friends star Matthew Perry.

The Unley revealed at Parkside that its latest cocktail was the ‘Chandler Bing’, a tribute to the Hollywood star, who died on Sunday.

‘A tribute to our sarcastic king. We present to you The Chandler Bing,” the pub wrote in a now-deleted caption on Instagram.

The alcoholic drink consists of Southern Comfort, peach schnapps, cranberry, fresh lime and sugar, for $18.

Perry rose to fame for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit ’90s sitcom Friends, which ran for ten seasons and amassed a worldwide fan base.

Some of the pub’s own followers criticized the measure, especially after Perry’s much-publicized battle with alcohol.

“You know he was an alcoholic, right?” wrote one follower.

“This feels so wrong considering he has battled alcoholism,” added another.

“Anyone who has seen his interviews and read his book knows that Friends wasn’t actually what he wanted to be remembered for, his words, not mine,” wrote another.

“I want people to understand that they are not alone and that there are other people who feel exactly the way they feel,” he said.

‘That their behavior is not insane, that they have a disease and that it is not their fault.

‘There is a very well-known rule that people don’t change. I happen to know that people change.’

Perry went on to say that “every day” he sees people “getting better” as “the lights come on in their eyes” during recovery.

“They get through the horrible part of the addiction and the detox and can live a normal life as long as they do a certain amount of work every day.”
