Amazon Fire TV Stick user complains about ‘really stupid process’ due to remote accident

AN Amazon Fire TV Stick user has expressed his frustration over a remote issue.

The comments were posted on the popular Reddit forum r/FireStickHacks.

“Does the Fire Stick remote have to die so early,” says the Fire Stick user asked.

“I had it for less than a year and the remote control already fell out for me.

“Tried new batteries, held down the home button, everything. Is this normal?

“I know I can use my phone as a remote, but it doesn’t have volume or power off controls.

“Should I just accept it and buy a new remote?”

The confused Redditor received several replies from other Fire TV Stick owners.

“If this happened. I contacted Amazon and a new one was shipped the same day.

“I haven’t had to fight for it so assume it’s a common problem. I’ve had the new one for over a year now and there have been no problems at all,” one person advised.

If you are still under warranty, you should be able to get a replacement. In the meantime, you could use the “Amazon Fire TV” app as a remote control from a phone or tablet, it is available for Android and IOS devices. ..it’s a bit fiddly to use but should be ok for the short term until you get a new remote..” advised another.

Amazon Fire TV Stick users with remotes that are defective but under warranty should be able to have them replaced for free.

If you are older, it may be more difficult to solve the problem.

It is possible to replace the batteries, but you may need to purchase a new remote control.

“It didn’t happen to me until a year later. It’s because it’s a very stupid process to replace and reset the remote control when the batteries run out.

“YouTube has tutorials. Mine came back to life after following one,” another Reddior advised.
