Anjelica Huston helped ring in her friend Joni Mitchell’s 80th birthday at the Smokehouse restaurant in Burbank, California, on Tuesday.
The Oscar winner, 72, looked fantastic as she hit the star-studded party as she was surrounded by luminaries including Goldie Hawn, Meryl Streep and Cyndi Lauper.
Wearing a fabulous leopard print coat, sheer black top and matching trousers, the statuesque stunner was all smiles on her way to the party.
She completed her casually chic ensemble with a Gucci belt and a pair of black designer heels, while keeping her signature raven braids long and loose.
The Prizzi’s Honor vet seemed to be in a cheerful mood for the special occasion, as her close friendship with Joni has spanned decades.

In 2003, the two Hollywood heavyweights attended the reception for the launch of the University of Ireland, Galway Huston School of Film and Digital Media at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Nearly thirty years earlier, Joni wrote a song about a party attended by herself, Anjelica, and Anjelica’s boyfriend at the time, Jack Nicolson.
According to Anjelica’s 2014 memoir Watch Me, the New York shindig also featured a model named Apollonia van Ravenstein, who ended up crying with a lampshade on her head because she had had an affair with Nicholson.
“She told me they had been in a relationship before he met me,” Angelica wrote in her tome. “Now I understood the reason behind the lampshade hat and the tears.”
The incident was immortalized on vinyl when Joni wrote ‘People’s Parties’ for her 1974 album Court and Spark. Paper magazine.
“Photo beauty gets attention/ Then her eye paint runs down/ She’s got a rose between her teeth/ And a lampshade crown/ One minute she’s so happy/ Then she’s crying on someone’s knee,” read the lyrics.
Joni’s big birthday bash comes a day after the Grammy winner announced the Joni Mitchell 80th Birthday Collection on her Instagram, which includes a collection of merchandise in honor of the musician.
Fans were also asked to send the legend an e-card to wish her a happy birthday in exchange for a chance to win a limited edition print.
And in July, she surprised fans by performing a full set at the Newport Folk Festival, her first full set in more than two decades, alongside Brandi Carlile.
