The Freedom of Russia Legion (FRL) fought alongside two other groups to capture Gorkovskii, near Belgorod, last week.

They have pledged to “march on Moscow” and are working with similar groups, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and the Siberian Battalion (SB), to destroy more of Putin’s strongholds.

In this latest daring attack by Russian rebels along the border and front line, the volunteer fighters achieved a second victory in Kozinka.

On Sunday, the RDK and SB factions moved together and took the second village of Kozinka, just a few kilometers away from Gorkovskii.

A victory photo shared on Telegram shows members of the SB and RDK waving their flags in the village.

The caption read: “Flags of the Siberian Battalion and the RDK in the village of Kozinka of the Russian Federation.”

The groups are believed to be actively fighting in both Belgorod and Kursk.

Together they form a formidable coalition of forces that battle Putin’s men along the border, capturing prisoners and building settlements along the way.

Their joint operation began on March 12, just days before Putin’s mock elections that ended in an unsurprising victory last night.

At dawn the rebels stormed across the border Ukraine go inside Russia into the unprecedented two-pronged attack on their homeland.

The Ukraine-based squads – made up largely of Russians – then issued chilling orders for locals to evacuate via a group Telegram statement.

It said “Citizens should not suffer from the war” before describing the regions dangerously bordering as a “combat zone”.

Political head of the FRL, Ilya Ponomarevtold The Sun that his Ukraine-supporting men were ready to do battle with Vlad as part of “Operation Freedom”.

Ponomarev said as their operation began: “This is definitely the largest attack we have led and it is finally a joint operation of all three Russian forces.” [partisan] regiments.”

Russian forces reportedly faced attacks in both Belgorod and Kursk after the invasion.

News agency TASS confirmed that the Russian National Guard and troops are fighting armed men near Tyotkino in the Kursk region, as well as in Belgorod.

Russia claimed it had killed 195 Ukrainian troops and destroyed five tanks in the region Sky News.

And Ponomarev, an ex-Russian MP and devout enemy of the Kremlincould not reveal the exact numbers involved in the attack, but estimated that his forces were outnumbered 10 to 1.

Nevertheless, its battle-hardened guerrilla groups – which have fought their teeth in some of Ukraine’s bloodiest battles – have proven to be quite a competitor.

He told The Sun last week that the Russian election would mark a crucial moment for them to “turn up the pressure in all directions”, and it appears that is the case.

They planned to disrupt the elections and inspire people to rise up against Mad Vlad.

A number of brave Russians protested against the elections last weekend destroying ballots and throwing petrol bombs at voting booths.

Citizens in Russia gathered at noon on the final day of voting as part of an “afternoon against Putin” march called by Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny before his death last month.

His plan was for people across the country to show up at the polls at the same time and spoil their ballots, or vote for a different candidate, drawing attention to the widespread discontent.

And at embassies around the world where Putin’s rule is weaker, people could riot even more defiantly when they voted.

They showed up in their thousands, waving banners, including one that read: “He is not president and this is not an election.”

About 75 Russians were arrested on Sunday after their bold attempts to take a stand.

And in blatant ignorance of the horrors of the international community, Putin thanked the Russians for their “trust” and “support” after claiming victory just hours later.
