Ariana Madix Makes Broadway Debut as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’

The name on everyone’s lips will be Ariana Madixwho is about to make her Broadway debut Chicago.

“I have news. Starting January 29th I will be playing Roxie Hart on Broadway Chicago” Madix, 38, revealed during the Wednesday, December 6, episode Live with Kelly and Mark. “It’s just the biggest dream come true. I can’t believe this is real life. I’m gonna cry.”

Chicago‘s official Instagram account confirmed Wednesday that Madix’s run will last approximately two months until March 24, 2024.

Chicago originally opened in New York City in 1975 after two artists, Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, go on trial for murder and compete for legal representation of the infamous Billy Flynn.

Madix’s Broadway announcement comes one day after her appearance on the Broadway show Dancing with the stars season 32 finale. She and her professional partner, Pasha Pashkovfinished in third place behind the number two Jason Mraz And Daniella Karagach and champions Xochitl Gomez And Val Chmerkovskiy.

“I am so incredibly grateful for this experience and the family I have met through this process,” says the Vanderpump Rules star wrote via her Instagram on Tuesday, December 5, raving about her ballroom journey. “Every participant, every professional, every person in the crew [and] every judge. I wish I could put into words what this means. This place and this show are magical.”

Long before Madix appeared DWTS or rose to Bravo reality TV stardom, she had a passion for performing. She studied theater in college and was even a costume character at Disney World.

“[Broadway] was my big dream as a child,” she noted Live.

Despite Madix’s experience on stage, participate DWTS (and grooving on heels) was a whole new experience.

“I’m having the best time. If I could do rehearsals and performances every day for the rest of my life, I would be happy. I find it so rewarding and fun,” she exclusively revealed We weekly cover story in October. “[The hardest part is] the wear and tear of the body. Regardless of whether you’re in shape or not, you don’t dance in heels every day. That starts to affect you in ways you didn’t expect. [It’s] intense – I spend a lot of time glazing my feet at home.”

Madix added at the time: “If you put me in my samba outfit three months ago and said, ‘Okay, have lunch here.’ Vanderpump Rules“I would have been very self-conscious. But I’m more focused on what I do and less on how I look, and that’s definitely different.”
