Arsenal 'not in title race'

Mark Lawrenson has suggested that Arsenal are not in the title race despite their victory over Liverpool.

Mark Lawrenson spoke Paddy power: “The title race is still only between Liverpool and Manchester City. It was a good result for Arsenal, but they are just missing something in a striker.

“They can't get a win on a bad day and that's how you win the title. You don't do that by winning 4-0 against the lesser teams, but when you don't play well, but you can still win.

“City are a bit different but they still fall behind in some games – like Brentford – and manage to come back to win the game. I don't think Arsenal have that back.

“They panic a little bit when they're chasing games and they're not very good at that. The top teams have this patience and continue to play in a certain way, knowing that they will get chances and often win games.”

Jorginho insists on focus

Jorginho has insisted Arsenal must remain focused ahead of the game against West Ham.

He said: “I think we have to concentrate, as I always said, from game to game.

“The Liverpool game is over now and we have to concentrate on West Ham and the next one after that and the next one after that.

“If we want to stay in the race, we have to concentrate on every match and give everything we can in every match.”
