A fierce debate has erupted online in an attempt to decipher what the shape of a mystery cookie cutter was supposed to be – and some hilarious suggestions have been made.
The strange shape was posted last week on the Facebook group Cookie Cutter Identification, where people from all over the world come together to try to pin oddly shaped cutters.
This particular shape has a number of curved points and corners, without any symmetry to give the owner any idea of what it could be.
John Thacker placed the cookie cutter on the group and said, “I just found whatever the fuck this is.”
His post has since attracted hundreds of comments, largely from those trying to understand the strange shape.

One person suspected it could be a dog and shared a photo detailing how the image would fit within the metal borders.
Another guessed it could be a koala, while another came up with the most abstract idea of a poodle prima ballerina – all complete with an image of how it’s possible.
There was another more artistic guess from a grandmother wearing a crocheted wool sweater, a comment that itself racked up dozens of likes.
Another commenter said: ‘Maybe it’s the Michelin guy with a squashed head?’

There were several suspicions of a Halloween-style cat with an arched back
One person even suggested it could be a very abstract Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants.
But there were some people who came to an agreement with a more sensible assessment.

One person drew an illustration of the cat in the cookie cutter, and other people in the group were convinced this was correct.
