Bobby Berk left ‘Queer Eye’ after ‘Challenges’ with cast and schedule

Bobby Berk was “asked to leave Netflix.” Strange eye after eight seasons, a source exclusively tells us We weekly.

The insider notes that the reason for Berk’s departure was “because he was not liked by the cast.”

Berk, 42, was an OG member of the Fab Five in the rebooted version of Strange eyewhich premiered in 2018. He played with him Karamo Brown, Brown France, Antoni Porowski And Jonathan Van Ness.

According to the source, there were “many challenges” that led to Berk’s departure.

“There were a lot of challenges with the planning [and] there was a loss of interest in Bobby filming the show,” the insider adds. “The network and the cast felt it was time to bring in fresh blood. His heart wasn’t in it and the rest of the cast started to hate him because of it.

However, a second source tells it Us that Berk “was not asked to leave” and that the “decision was amicable.”

Berk, the interior guru Strange eyeconfirmed his departure from reality TV on Monday, November 13, in a lengthy statement to the “Strange eye community, who have become family to me.”

“The love I have received from you over the past six years has been absolutely surreal,” he wrote, sharing several throwback photos from the show. “You were devoted fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design. I learned all about kindness, love and acceptance from you and it has changed my life for the better. The way you embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something that I will truly carry with me for the rest of my life.

Berk also paid tribute to the show’s “heroes,” who were the subject of the episodic makeovers.

“To all our wonderful, loving, wonderful and courageous heroes, I want to say so much, and so much gratitude I want to express to all of you for allowing me into your homes and hearts,” Berk continued. “It’s all because of you that I’ve kept going all these years and you’ve all changed me for the better. I am so very proud of you all! Being able to help you find the best version of yourself is something I have never taken for granted and never will.”

Berks Strange eye cohosts all commented on his social media post and shared their support.

“We are #ForeverTheFab5 no matter what,” Brown, 43, wrote via an Instagram comment. “I’m about to be [at] The door and emails from Netflix telling you you can’t leave! Who’s coming with me? 😢😍I love you!”

Birch is still part of it Strange eye season 8, which has already been filmed in New Orleans. The film will premiere on Netflix on January 24, 2024.
