A woman was left a blushing bride after sending out extra wedding invites to celebrities and receiving an unlikely response from a high-profile figure.

Bree, 27, from Richmond, Virginia, uploaded a video to her TikTok page, @breevmusic, on January 19, documenting her response to a personal reply.

Bree married her wife Jean in September last year, in the presence of many family and friends on the couple's special day.

In the film materialwhich has been viewed more than a million times, the newlyweds revealed that she still had wedding invitations floating around, and took the opportunity to try her luck and playfully send some to various celebrities.

She said: 'So last year I sent wedding invitations to some random famous people. We had a bunch left over and I sent some to Drew Barrymore and a few other people.

Bree then revealed her surprise when she received a personal response from a prominent figure: a former president of the United States.

She continued, “One of the people I sent a wedding invitation to was Michelle and Barack Obama.

'I went to check the mail today. I opened the mail and this was in the mailbox: Barack, the presidential stamp and Barack Obama's signature. Postage and costs paid.'

Bree revealed a letter with her address on it and zoomed in to show the gold presidential stamp next to Barack Obama's name in the upper left corner of the envelope.

The newlyweds couldn't contain their shock and shouted, “I'm going crazy.” My wife isn't even home, she's at work. I have to wait about three hours before I can share this news with her.

I called my mother, I called my best friend. Barack Obama sent me something about my wedding. Barack Obama knows I'm married.'

In a sequel videoBree and her wife open the letter together and reveal a sweet personal message from the Obamas.

The message reads: 'Dear Bree and Jean. Congratulations on your wedding! We hope that this marriage is blessed with love, laughter and happiness, and that your bond grows stronger every year.

Both Michelle and Barack Obama appeared to have signed their well wishes with handwritten signatures, confirming an epic but unforeseen victory for the new couple.

More than 5,600 responses poured in from Obama fans asking to share their own healthy interactions with the former president.

One person wrote, “I sent my published book to Obama and he wrote me a letter back saying he enjoyed reading it.”

Another said: 'We sent the Obamas a baby announcement when my son was there in 2012 and they responded then too! We framed the letter in his room!'

A third revealed: 'Sent him an invite to our wedding in 2016 with a song request on the RSVP – he replied very sweetly and responded with his first dance song of their wedding.'

Meanwhile, a furious woman turned down her niece's wedding invitation after her partner of two years was not included. She claimed that the lack of a plus one was painful and that the couple should not have invited her at all.
