Abaz (@acl0402) shared the cleaning trick in a TikTok video.

Although he had lived in frigid climates all his life, he explained that he was “years old today” when he learned the hack.

He tried to scrape ice off the sidewalk with a large shovel, but found he was having a hard time.

'No problem. Turn it over,” he said, turning the shovel upside down.

Demolishing the ice was suddenly a much easier and faster job, as he quickly bulldozed through the snowy ground.

Some Canadians who had long known about the trick joked that it was Canadian 101.

“Welcome to Canada, where we've been doing it this way forever,” said one.

“First time in Canada huh?” joked another.

Although he had been in the country for decades, Abaz said there was still much to learn about how to deal with the intense weather.

“I've been working here for 22 years and normally I used an ice chipper, but I forgot those and those are heavy, so I tried this and it worked great,” he replied.

My 'half and half' shoveling method clears your sidewalk of snow in seconds – it's great for anything under 4 inches

A few Canadians supported him, revealing that this was the first time they had heard of the trick.

“I've lived in Canada all my life and didn't know this,” said one ally.

“Born and raised in Canada and I didn't know this,” said another.

Many thanked him for sharing it as it could come in handy during harsh winters.

“This can be very helpful for those who are not used to winters like this. Thanks for sharing the tip!” said one commenter.
