The two leads were joined by their co-stars Benny Safdie and Laura Linney.

The cast is busy promoting the film ahead of awards season.

Their first press tour before the film’s release was cut short due to the American actors’ union strike, but they’re now making up for lost time.

Last week, Emily and Cillian were joined by their co-stars Florence Pugh and Jamie Dornan for another special screening in London.

Emily and Florence couldn’t contain their smiles as they shared a sweet hug and posed for photos.

Oppenheimer was released four months ago on July 21 – the same day as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

The double screening led many to come to the cinema to see both films in a phenomenon called ‘Barbenheimer’, which boosted sales of both films.

Since its release, Oppenheimer grossed over $953 million worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film of 2023.

Peaky Blinders star Cillian takes on the role of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer, the ‘father of the atomic bomb’, and following its premiere in Paris earlier this week, critics have tipped that the film would make a big profit.

Emily plays Kitty, the wife of physicist Oppenheimer, while Florence plays Jean Tatlock, a psychiatrist, member of the Communist Party and close friend of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The film is an adaptation of the 2006 book American Prometheus: The Triumph And Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer, by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning book chronicles Oppenheimer’s personal life and his time leading the Manhattan Project in the early and mid-1940s.

The film has already been hailed as a multi-award contender.

Journalists have taken to Twitter to share their rave reviews of the film, with one critic describing how the film ‘split my brain open’ and ‘left me sobbing through the end credits’.

Robbie Collin of The Telegraph wrote: ‘I’m torn between being coy and mysterious about Oppenheimer and just coming out and saying it’s a total knockout.’

Variety’s Elsa Keslassy added, “One sign that French audiences loved #Oppenheimer is that they stood in front of the Grand Rex theater debating it long after the film ended!”

It has also become the highest-grossing R-rated film of the year since its release on July 21, and Universal’s fastest R-rated film to gross $200 million in the US.

Paul Degarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, credited the film for its “astonishing theatrical performance, made all the more impressive by its R-rating, running time and subject matter.”

He also called Nolan the director: “In the hands of a lesser filmmaker and without a spectacular marketing and release strategy, [the film] would probably have become a mere footnote in the reference to the performance of historical dramas at the box office.”

The film, starring Cillian Murphy as the titular Manhattan Project physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, runs three hours.

Its character biopic also adds to its box office acclaim, becoming only the fourth to earn half a billion dollars in worldwide revenue – after Bohemian Rhapsody, Passion of the Christ and American Sniper.

In becoming the most successful World War II film on the big screen, the film, which also stars Florence Pugh and Robert Downey JR, has earned Dunkirk ($527 million), Saving Private Ryan ($482 million) and Pearl Harbor ($449 million), the researchers said. Box Office Mojo.
