I turned my tired council house bedroom into a luxurious space with items from Ikea
With spring fast approaching, many of us will be eager to give our homes a freshening up.
One woman has wowed social media by transforming her home into a luxury space – with finds from Ikea and the high street.

It is even more impressive when you see the before photos of the dilapidated house.
Like many residents of the town hall Celène Franciscus had to wait patiently until a house became available for her young family.
When they finally moved in, the property was in a shocking state, with the wallpaper peeling from the walls and the floorboards exposed. It was in dire need of renovation. TLC.
Instead of waiting for help from the municipality, the 25-year-old started creating her dream home with thrifty finds.
Starting with the basics, the DIY expert removed the layer of outdated wallpaper and retouched the walls with a beautiful pale walnut paint from Levis.
Wanting to give her home a luxurious look, she then had the paneling cut to size at her local DIY store, while the interior design expert installed it behind her bed.
Even the mother-of-one was shocked at how affordable they were, later revealing to fans in a viral Tiktok that they cost just £16 and she installed them with a simple glue.
“I picked up some MDF from our local hardware store, had them custom made… £16 for all that, are you kidding me?” She gushed and added: “Sounds like a pound.”
However, she wasn't done giving her home a chic makeover just yet, with Celene turning her attention to decorating her bedroom.
Rather than indulge in designer decor, the DIY expert used pieces from Ikea's Hemnes range, including a beautiful side table and matching chest of drawers.
Inspired by the Scandi store, Celene injected a little greenery into the space with a large plant she found while shopping there.
Even her soft furnishings were chic, as she added a woven plant pot from H&M and beautiful white bed linen from B&M with black trim.
She kept costs down even further, with picture lamps and coffee table books from Amazon.
Unsurprisingly, her Tiktok videos have racked up thousands of views, while others have been inspired by the beautiful home.
One fan even wrote: “Honestly your interior designs inspired me so much when I got my first forever home.”
Some wanted to recreate her look, while others asked where she found the items that gave her home such a luxurious look.
After learning her bedding was from B&M, another user said: “Oh wow, it looks like Dusk or something similar, looks really luxurious! Another reason to go to B&M again now.”
Although Celene is in love with her new home, there's another reason she's eager to share her story on social media.
In the comments, she told one follower: “I just want to break the stigma that comes with living in social housing.”
We think she definitely achieved her goal with this stunning transformation.
