The house now looks unrecognizable.

When Connor first moved into his council home, it was extremely bare, with paint peeling from the walls and stains on the floorboards.

However, Connor soon put his DIY skills to the test and the place now looks unrecognizable.

“What a ride it was,” he said.

In his bedroom, Connor has covered the walls with shiny gray and silver wallpaper from B&Q.

Continuing the gray theme, he added gray curtains and a chic silver bedspread.

In the bathroom, Connor has tiled the walls with large beige tiles from B&Q and installed a modern-looking bath shower.

In the kitchen he installed new black cabinets and a black dishwasher, and in the hallway he hung large silver mirrors and some stylish artwork.

Connor's video has clearly impressed many as it has already been viewed over 910,000 times.

TikTik users rushed to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts on Connor's renovation.

One user said: “That looks amazing, what a transformation”.

Another user said: “Very well done. Maybe you should make this a career as you seem good at what you do.”

A third user added: “It's beautiful and homely. Well done, enjoy your new home.”

Tenants of the municipality are allowed to make changes and renovations to their home.

However, they must ensure that all work is in accordance with building regulations and planning permission.

Council houses are made available by local authorities to people in need.

They are often cheaper than renting private homes and can also provide greater security against eviction.

Council housing is allocated to potential tenants on a points-based system, with those in greater need receiving homes first.

If you are high enough on the waiting list, the municipality will contact you about an available home.

In Great Britain, there are currently more than a million people waiting for social housing.
