Tenants of a COUNCIL house can transfer their home to another rented council house, if the other person agrees, which is what happened to Kylie Louise.

But things didn't go as smoothly as Kylie had planned as she revealed she was shocked by the mess left behind in her new council home.

Not only did the mother find someone else's trash on the floor, including poopy pants, but she also found human poop under the bed.

In addition, the house was full of belongings, including boxes of clothes and piles of hair.

And the mess wasn't just in the house, as the garden had clearly also been used as a dumping ground and was full of rubbish, including mattresses, slatted frames and more.

Taking to social media, Kylie explained that she had to pay hundreds of pounds to clean the property, as she showed her followers an up-close look at the house when she moved in.

She explains: 'After being homeless and then living in a flat for two years, I jumped at the opportunity to own a three-bedroom house.

“I didn't think I would have to spend over £200 on cleaning products and that it would take four weeks just to clean and get the bedrooms half decent.”

Sharing photos of the mess, she added: “When you do a house swap with an absolute bum and [are] left to clean up human s**t.”

Kylie later opened up about the experience, explaining that she was absolutely devastated when her family moved in.

She explained: “I will forever be grateful and happy when everything is done.

“Just take the p**s with you if you leave your house spotless.”

My town hall was dilapidated and bare when I moved there. Using supplies from The Range I made it look 'lush'

She also advised, “If you're doing a trade, make sure you check every inch of the house.

“Every time I came to watch, I was told that [that] people were sleeping upstairs so I just accepted photos! Stupid me.

It was absolutely soul destroying that anyone could do that

“You don't expect to find human turds under the beds they left behind, do you?

“I cried a lot for two weeks. It's so bad.

“These aren't even the worst pictures I have of it.

“It was absolutely soul destroying that someone could do that!

“There is still a lot to do, but we are getting there.”

Kylie later explained that five weeks after moving in, the old tenant's belongings are still in the garage, continuing: “The garage here is still FULL, five weeks later [we’re] still waiting for it to be emptied.

“The job was clearly not done properly!”

The busy mother had not only cleaned the property from top to bottom, but also laid new carpet and given the house a lick of fresh paint.

What is a town hall exchange?

A municipal home exchange, also called mutual exchange, is an arrangement for people who live in a municipality or housing association and want to exchange their home with another tenant.

Often people trade to get a larger or smaller home or to move to another area.

When you exchange your home with each other, you exchange your rental agreement with someone else.

Anyone with a fully insured or certain social housing rental in their name and a clear rental account can make a mutual exchange.

You cannot exchange your home if you:

  • have an introductory rental
  • have a trial rental
  • are in temporary housing

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @kylielouise11has clearly left many with their mouths open as it has quickly amassed 124,300 views.

Social media users were shocked by the mess in Kylie's home, with many taking to the comments to praise her home's transformation.

One person said: “It's shocking how some people live! I am sure that when I looked at exchanges years ago, both properties had to be assessed and approved for the exchange.”

Another added: “I would be mortified! Some people have no shame!! Looks good! You did a great job.”

A third commented: “Shocking how people leave their belongings behind but well done and good luck in your new beautiful home.”
