Darwin Lotto winner shocked after receiving a call about his massive $1 million windfall while sitting next to his boss
An Australian worker has revealed the incredible moment they received a call telling them they had won the Lotto while sitting next to their boss.
The Darwin man had entered the draw on Monday and Wednesday and was one of three winners drawn on Monday.
The man had no idea he had won until he received a phone call Tuesday while sitting next to his boss in the office.
He said he thought the call could be a scam and put his phone on speaker, before quickly turning it off when he realized it was legitimate.
The $3 million prize pool was split equally among the winners, meaning the man had immediately won $1 million.

‘That’s unreal. I’m excited!’ he said.
“I’m at work and when you called, I was sitting next to my boss.
“I thought it might be a scam call, so I had it on speaker. I quickly turned off the speaker and now we’re here!’
The man who regularly plays Lotto using the same numbers he picked many years ago has credited his father for the win.
“Dad got me into raffles and Instant Scratch-Its tickets – I have him to thank for that!” he said.
“It may be hard to concentrate today.”
With a seven-figure bank account, the winner could be forgiven for spending a lot of money on luxury items.
Instead, he plans to buy a property and enjoy a “celebration drink.”
This win contributed to the 87 individuals who have become millionaires through the Monday & Wednesday Lotto this year alone, collecting a total of $93 million in winnings.
