Brits devastated as Cadbury’s confirms ‘nostalgic’ Easter chocolate has been discontinued

The ‘NOSTALGIC’ Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoon boxes were discontinued before Easter last year, but some fans are only now finding out.

Egg ‘n’ Spoons was produced over a decade ago and consisted of four chocolate eggs in a carton filled with vanilla or chocolate mousse and even a special Oreo variety.

Cadbury has yet to break the news to heartbroken fans

But Mondelez-owned Cadbury confirmed last year that the egg cartons with their own spoon “have been discontinued to reflect the changing taste buds of our fans.”

Ahead of this year’s Easter egg season, Cadbury has yet to break the news to outraged fans on X, formerly Twitter.

Cadbury reconfirmed that the nostalgic Easter treat had been axed as a mother wrote about her son’s heartbreak.

She said: “My son is very nostalgic for the chocolate eggs and spoons. Since it’s Easter, he wanted me to buy some. I just found out it has been discontinued! Why? He says he is heartbroken. Children’s taste buds don’t change! A real shame!”

Cadbury commented on the post: “We have some great new treats to try this year though!” These include a new Dairy Milk Half & Half Ultimate Easter egg and the new Creme Egg Bar.

Fans have called Cadbury’s discontinuation of Egg ‘n’ Spoon chocolate eggs a “crime” on X (formerly Twitter).

One user wrote: “This is the worst day of my life,” while another said: “I’m missing egg and spoon intensely at the moment, I hope Cadbury knows what it’s done to me.”

One fan added: “My villain origin story will be the fact that Cadbury has discontinued their egg spoons”

And a fourth has called for change, saying: “Petition to get Cadbury UK to bring back the egg spoons.”

This comes as Cadbury has told customers that Mini Egg Cartons will not be returning this year, as well as the Caramel Bunnies which have disappeared. One customer wrote: “Cadbury never stops short of their best chocolates.”

Cadbury isn’t the only chocolate brand to have Easter eggs disappearing from its shelves; the Galaxy Enchanted Eggs from Mars have been discontinued and the dark chocolate bar has been removed from the Easter Bounty egg carton.
