Members of a disabled riding group in Somerset have shared their excitement after a pony – who had been missing for 12 days – was found.

On June 10, she wrote an emotional plea for answers. “It’s been a week now since Star disappeared from a field in the Blackdown Hills,” Anne said.

“Despite drones searching for several days and at least 3,000 shares going as far as Scotland and Ireland, we have heard nothing…

‘Star is a therapy pony for children and adults with psychological problems. She is missed by all of our group… Please share so we can find her.”

Dozens of commentators were heartbroken by Star’s absence – but earlier today everyone rejoiced when Anne announced the pony had been found.

She then thanked everyone in the social media post, as commenters rushed to offer their congratulations.

That’s great news Anna! I am so happy for you!! Where was she??!” asked an excited friend. ‘OMG. So happy to hear this,” wrote a second. “I am here in tears for you. Sending lots of hugs and best wishes.’

A third added: “Hope she’s okay and great news.” “Fantastic news that Anne is so happy,” read another.

It is not yet known how Star was found.

“There were no traces of anything,” she said. “The work she does in driving for the disabled is very important. They are people with learning and physical disabilities and handling and riding a pony is so beneficial.’

Many rolled up their sleeves to help search for Star, including a farmer in an adjacent field.

According to the outlet, Avon and Somerset Police also released a statement saying: “An appeal has been made to members of our Horse Watch program – an initiative that aims to reduce horse crime and improve the flow of information between equine communities and the increase police.

“We also visited Star’s owner to take a statement and provide advice on how to keep their other horses and ponies safe.”
