A witness's friend was unsure about what to wear and worried about her choice of clothing.
She took to Reddit to ask for advice, where she received dozens of responses about her fashion problem.
The social media user found a dress from Windsor and posted two photos of the dress in taupe.
Two more photos showed the dress in pink.
The effortlessly ethereal floral mesh maxi dress retails for $46.90 in both variations.
“I have a wedding in August in VT, my boyfriend is the best man,” wrote an original poster on the website Wedding clothes subreddit.
“I want to make sure this goes well with a chic, casual shed/garden theme,” she explained.
“I'm also stuck between the two color choices, assuming these are appropriate clothes,” the Redditor added.
“Suggestions are welcome,” she finished.
The social media user said it was “a late afternoon wedding with the reception shortly afterwards at the same location.”
The original poster said she could not ask the other women in the wedding party for help because she did not know them.
A majority of people online said they liked the dark clothing option.
“Go dark so no one can look at you and say you're trying to look like a bride,” reads one most popular reactions.
Another agreed, to write: “This. The darker one is perfect.”
But some people worried the dress would be inappropriate.
“Both dresses are beautiful, but that slit is way too open for how high it is. Because of the way it is constructed, it cannot close at all at the top,” says one wrote.
“The pattern on the chest is really weird and distracting IMO,” one second noticed.
