The Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala has taken place every year since 1976 on the night before the annual Grammy Awards.

It has become a cultural icon and a crown jewel of the music industry's biggest weekend, with a star-studded guest list and stellar performances.

The invitation-only soiree also featured A-listers such as Paris Hilton, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Julia Garner and the members of Green Day.

Davis opened up about the legendary soiree during an interview with Variety on Thursday.

'We don't talk about performances because it's all a surprise. But in the public that will be the case [Motown founder] Berry Gordy and Diana Ross and Jay-Z and Beyonce and Bon Jovi, and newer artists will be there like SZA, Ice Spice, Noah Kahan and [basketball great] Scottie Pippen and [tennis superstars] Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams.

“I think it will be Nancy Pelosi's 24th or 25th year in a row. It's a unique audience.'

He added: “We're here for the party, so obviously I have a lot on my mind at the moment.

'People come from all over the world and we hope to meet and perhaps even exceed their expectations. That is a big challenge. I'm taking it seriously and I'm excited.”

The Pre-GRAMMY Gala, sponsored by Hilton, IBM and Mastercard, will honor Sony Music Publishing Chairman and CEO Jon Platt as the 2024 GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons.

“Jon Platt is one of the music industry's most illustrious leaders and I am thrilled that he will receive this year's Salute to Industry Icons honor,” Davis said in a statement.

“Jon's longstanding, groundbreaking commitment to supporting songwriters across the music spectrum, as well as his staunch commitment to advocacy, diversity and equality in the music business, are exemplary,” he continued.

“Artists and the industry as a whole are fortunate to have his insight and passion at the helm.”
