Elliot Page revealed that he suffered a scary transphobic attack last year.

The Juno star, 36, shared that a man threatened him with assault outside his Los Angeles hotel, in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times.

The actor, who has been busy promoting his memoir Pageboy, said the man yelled, “I’m going to f*****g gay bash you, f****t” as he walked to a convenience store at Sunset and La Cinega in West Hollywood.

Elliot, who was once known as Ellen Page and came out as transgender in 2020, said when he entered the store to seek help from the employees, the man yelled, “This is why I need a gun!”

The Canadian-born entertainer shared that he now feels less safe visiting the City of Angels, telling the publication, “Now when I’m in Los Angeles, I don’t feel as comfortable as I used to while walking.”

The Oscar-nominated actor told the LA Times reporter that the experience took place near where they met for the interview.

The Umbrella Academy star also told the publication that while he may feel unsafe in certain places, he still has the privilege of being able to pay for private security and stay in safe hotel rooms.

“Doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic,” Elliot added. “But I have resources that, in all cases that are difficult, protect and can protect me from these things.”

It comes after Page recently recalled another unfortunate circumstance, when a “famous bastard” told him that being gay “doesn’t exist” at a Los Angeles party in 2014.

Page recounted the moment in his forthcoming memoir Pageboy in a chapter entitled “Famous A**hole at Party.”

The person was an actor whom Page called an “acquaintance,” but his name was never revealed in the book.

In an extract obtained by People, Page recalled the actor telling him, “You’re not gay. That does not exist. You’re just afraid of men.’

Then, Page claims, the actor told him, “I’m going to fuck you to make you realize you’re not gay.”

A few days later, Page bumped into the actor at the gym. “I have no problem with gays, I swear,” the actor insisted.

“I think so,” Page replied.

While Page said he “deliberately didn’t share his name,” he said many people at the party witnessed the interaction. “But he’ll hear about this and know it’s him.”

Page included this particular story in the book to shed light on the realities of what the LGBTQ+ community routinely deals with.

“I’ve seen a version of that many times throughout my life. Many gay and transgender people have to deal with it continuously. These moments that we love often we don’t talk about or we should just brush them off when it’s actually really bad.

“I put that story in the book because it’s about highlighting the reality, the shit we’re dealing with and what’s constantly being sent to us, especially in environments that are predominantly cis and heterosexual.

“How we navigate that world where you have more extreme, overt moments. Or you have the more, like, subtle jokes. [In Hollywood] these are very powerful people. They are the ones who choose which stories to tell and who create content for people all over the world to see.”

It’s one of many revelations that have come out ahead of the book’s June 6 release.

In snippets obtained by People, Elliot also revealed he was in a secret relationship with Kate Mara after coming out as gay in 2014 — and while the House Of Cards actress was dating Max Minghella.

He also recalled being in a gay bar a few months before the premiere of his 2008 breakout movie Juno, in another clip obtained by People.

At the bar, he met a woman named Paula, who unknowingly helped him deal with the feelings of “shame” he had.
