Royal expert Nick Bullen has thoughts about it Prince William answering the speculations about Princess Kate Middleton‘s months-long recovery from abdominal surgery.
“I think it’s good that he has spoken out. There has been so much conspiracy here in London,” Bullen, the editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV, said exclusively We weekly on Wednesday March 6. “I think William just decided, ‘Okay, enough is enough.'”
Kensington Palace announced on January 17 that Kate, 42, had undergone a “planned” abdominal procedure at the London Clinic and would not likely resume her public duties until after Easter.
While social media is abuzz with theories about what could keep the princess out of commission for so long, a rep for William, 41, said People Wednesday that the Prince of Wales’s “focus is on work and not on social media.”
Kate was spotted for the first time since the procedure on Monday, March 4. Photos obtained by TMZ showed the princess sitting next to her mother in the passenger seat of a car. Carole Middleton.
“Kensington Palace has asked for those photos to be removed. And the American press went with them, the British press dropped them. I don’t think this has helped the conspiracy theory machine,” Bullen said Us. “So I think William probably had to come out and say, ‘Look, everything’s fine. We’ll just get on with the job.’ He said: ‘We’re not going to speculate on social media.’ I think so [he] felt he had to say something.
Bullen added that Buckingham Palace is open about it King Charles III The fact that he underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate in January (and subsequent cancer diagnosis) has made the lack of information about Kate’s condition even more glaring.
“Because the King has been so open about his enlarged prostate surgery, it has put some pressure on Kensington Palace and William and Kate to reveal what is going on there,” he explained. “Because they didn’t do that, a void has been created, [and] that kind of vacuum is filled with speculation.”
Bullen noted that the “real mistake” was that Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace “clearly did not coordinate with each other” when announcing Charles and Kate’s respective health issues.
“The fact that we have the news of the King’s enlarged prostate is announced on the same day that Kate goes to hospital, and one [announcement] is very open and the other is less open. I think it was handled a bit poorly from the start because it felt like the households weren’t talking to each other,” Bullen said.
While some wonder why Kate’s recovery period is taking so long, Bullen thinks there may be a simple explanation.
“I think they really felt like they wanted to take the time to recover properly and come back fully recovered because there is an argument that if she came back very quickly and then wasn’t fully recovered, [had] to withdraw again, that would have led to even more speculation,” he said. “So I guess the view was [to] go in, get it done right, get better, and then come out at full strength.
Bullen said he has heard that Kate is in “really good spirits” and doing “good” while she recovers.
“The fact that she was photographed on the school run with her mother – okay, not driving, but a lot of people don’t drive anymore after abdominal surgery – but the fact that she is on the school run, she’s out with her mother and she doesn’t let the kids who don’t going to school would suggest that things are going well,” he said.
