Will there be FA Cup fourth round replays?

Replays of the FA Cup have become a major part of English football's most famous cup competition.

And there have been extensive changes in recent years regarding whether they are included.

In the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons, all replays were canceled due to match congestion.

But they were brought back for the third and fourth rounds of the 2022-2023 season.

For the 2023-2024 season, there WILL be fourth round replays if necessary, as they were also available in the third round.

However, from the fifth round onwards there will be no more replays and matches ending in a draw will be settled that evening.

Are there extra time and penalties during replays?

Yes! Extra time and penalties are available if two teams cannot be separated after 90 minutes in the replay during their FA Cup match.

30 minutes of extra time will be played and if the scores are still tied, the winner will go to a penalty shootout.
