Gordon Ramsay's 'ultimate' £65 Sunday Roast is criticized by diners who say they would get more at a Toby Carvery

Gordon Ramsay has been ambushed by diners at his Sunday roast, with hungry fans complaining that the portion size is nowhere large enough to satisfy most appetites.

The chef shared images of his roast on

While some admitted it looked delicious, others were up in arms over the portion sizes, with one saying: 'I need a kebab after that'.

The meal, which costs a whopping £65 per person, consists of a beef wellington with confit Roscoff onion and red wine jus.

If guests don't fancy the roast, they can get baked potato gnocchi for £33, Atlantic halibut for £54, Dover sole a la Grenobloise for £65 or a whole BBQ lobster thermidor for a surprising £90.

Desserts start at £16 for sticky toffee pudding with honey ice cream.

But some said the “all the trimmings” on the roast pictured barely covered the plate.

“Firstly not enough, way too small, I have at least six spuds, five veggies and more gravy and mine is a lot cheaper,” said one commenter. “But your presentation is much better than mine, because I like it more and more.”

'That's not a Sunday roast, too nice. It needs to be piled on and swimming in gravy,” said another.

One agreed, writing: 'Looks good, but not nearly enough Yorkshire pudding or gravy, fella.'

And the presentation also created a divide between the north and south, with one X user saying: 'Boys from the north like more gravy than that!'

“Looks great but would I have to sell a kidney to pay for it,” another added.

And someone scoffed, “All the trimmings? There are two carrots and a little bit of Yorkshire and nothing else.'

Another chirped: 'Then I need a kebab, way too small a portion for me.'

“Where's the rest, Gordon???” one potential guest wrote.

“Toby Carvery made me eat as many veggies as I want dude, so you've got a ways to go to declare 'ultimate',” someone else said.

However, Gordon, 57, is clearly doing something right at the Savoy Grill.

It has over 2,400 reviews on Google, with a rating of 4.4 out of 5.

A number of celebrities have dined at the restaurant including Winston Churchill, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe – not to mention Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
