A WOMAN has shared the top tips that have helped her hair grow so much in a year.
She said one of them, the “section” method, completely changed her life.
Her other tweaks also made a big difference to the condition of her shiny locks.
Abbey Yung (@abdijyung) is a certified trichologist.
She has 1.1 million followers on TikTok, where she shares her love for all things hair and skin.
She has put her words into action and transformed her hair over the past twelve months.
From dull, dry hair a year ago, she now has long, shiny locks.
“How I grew long, healthy hair in one year,” she said in her after.
“These are the top things I changed about my hair care routine that helped it grow,” she added.
STOP BLEACHING
She has gone from platinum blonde to a more natural blonde.

“At first, I completely changed the way I colored my hair,” she said.
“My hair was incredibly bleached from years of full-foil highlights. This kind of blonde always leads to extreme breakage.
“So I stopped doing that and went for a much darker, more golden honey blonde,” she said.
It has made a world of difference.
“It’s so much easier to maintain healthy hair with this type of blonde,” she added.
APPLY HAIR CARE IN SECTIONS
This tip alone had made a transformation for her mane, she thought.
“Practicing hair care in sections has completely changed my life,” she said.
She does this with every hair product.
“I never apply a hair mask or leave-in conditioner to my hair all at once,” she said.
“I always section my hair and apply it that way so I know my hair is evenly protected.”
SOFTER HAIRSTYLE
She opted for a low-maintenance way to style her hair, which is also friendlier.
“I started prioritizing styling my hair extremely gently instead of having it styled perfectly,” she said.
“So I almost always opt for heatless curls instead of a hot curling iron, and I always wear it in low, loose styles instead of a tightly pulled high hairdo.”
HAIR DRYING METHOD
Drop the heat, it’s not good for healthy hair, she said.
“I’ve changed the way I dry my hair. So instead of using a blow dryer for the entire drying process, I let my hair dry for 80% to 90% of the drying time and then finished with the blow dryer,” she said.
Commenters found her tips helpful.
“The new color is also beautiful. I think it adds a lot of dimension,” said one.
“Your advice will help me rebuild the strength of my postpartum hair,” was another’s grateful response.
“I like this so much, so helpful,” said a third person.
“Agreed on hair highlights. That’s the key,” thought a fourth person.
