A BODY-positive activist said natural bodies – like hers – should be embraced.
She said her body is curvy because she is an adult and doesn’t get injections.
TikToker Ashley Parker (@ashell1209) said she is “unapologetically me”.
One follower pointed out her hip pockets, the small indentations above the thighs.
Some people consider them a negative characteristic.
“I have hip dips because I am a grown woman and God decided he would kiss me on each of my hips,” she said.
“I deserve sexiness,” Ashley added.
Ladies big or small, fat or thin, everyone has hip dips,” she said. “Because your hips are natural.”
“Oh, you’ve just seen Kim Kardashian before?” she asked. “She has injectables in her, so she looks like a baboon.”
Ashley walked in front of the camera.
“To all the ladies with hip underwear, you are damn sexy,” she said. “Believe it.”
Hip dips are completely natural and do not determine a person’s health.
“Hip dips are not a sign of healthy, unhealthy, overweight or underweight,” said personal trainer David Wiener Women’s health.
“Hip dips are part of your bone structure and while you can improve your body shape through exercise and diet, you cannot change your bone structure,” he said.
However, the amount of body fat can make hip dips more apparent, Wiener told the outlet.
Hip dips are not the same as love handles, also known as muffin top.
The name refers to the fat that flanks the abdomen. It is not related to bone structure, but can occur based on genetics.
